Horns! She is certainly a different type of doe around here, firstly for her horns which I'm happy to report are no longer after a successful dehorning - but also considering she is an Experimental! When I couldn't get her mother settled AI, and I had already used the LaMancha buck we had on site I decided to do something a little different. We loved Drakon, and he was getting older so why not? Verbena herself goes back to some Nubian.
Horns is a really promising young doe. Being a June kid, and freshening well before her second kidding she has really grown up this year but still have a long way to go. Even so, she is a productive doe for her more moderate size and has some lovely type and femininity.
Horns has a special daughter by our herd sire Autumn-Acres Metal Jacket, and those true LaMancha type ears have continued to pull through for us! Keep an eye out for her down the road.
